Uttarakhand’s Manisha becomes Mizoram Governor’s ADC, first female Indian officer

Uttarakhand’s daughter Manisha has created history. The Governor of Mizoram has appointed Manisha as ADC.
Air Force officer Manisha has brought pride to the state. He was presented to him by Mizoram Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati has appointed as ADC. She has made history by becoming the first woman Indian Armed Forces officer in the country to be appointed as ADC to the Governor.

Uttarakhand is a military dominated state. Here, joining the army is not a means of earning a living, but a tradition of renunciation, sacrifice and pride. The family of Lilavati Karki, resident of Nagal Jwalapur, Doiwala, Dehradun, is carrying forward this tradition. Lilavati’s husband Prem Singh Karki was also serving as a flying officer in the army.

After retirement from the army, he died in an accident in February this year. According to Lilavati Karki, her son Deepak Karki is a Major in the Army, who is currently posted in Gurdaspur, while her daughter-in-law Manisha is a Squadron Leader in the Air Force. She expressed happiness over the appointment of Manisha, a 2015 batch Indian Air Force officer, as Aide de Camp to the Governor.

She tells that her daughter-in-law is the pride of her family. While serving as an officer in the army, she not only fulfills her responsibilities well but also takes full care of her as a daughter. Previously, she served at Air Force Station Bidar, Air Force Station Pune, and Air Force Station Bathinda.

Retired Army Subedar Manohar Singh Bora says that Manisha has created history. The village is happy with this achievement. The Mizoram Governor also said in a message that Manisha’s appointment is not just a milestone but a testament to the remarkable capabilities of women who challenge gender norms and excel in many fields.
