PM Modi made a phone call to CM Dhami, discussing the situation of the workers trapped in the tunnel

Prime Minister Narendra Modi contacted Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to inquire about the well-being of the stranded workers in the tunnel. The Prime Minister received detailed information regarding the drilling operations. He emphasized the need for ensuring the safety of both the workers trapped inside and those involved in the rescue and relief efforts. He also stressed the importance of ensuring that the families of the trapped workers face no difficulties. The rescue operation to evacuate the 41 workers trapped in the Uttarkashi tunnel is now in its final stage, with only a few meters remaining. Prime Minister Modi is closely monitoring the entire rescue campaign.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami again, discussing the relief and rescue work for the workers trapped in the tunnel in Silkyara (Uttarkashi). The Prime Minister received a briefing on the drilling operations and also discussed the upcoming strategy. The workers may soon be able to come out. Chief Minister informed Prime Minister Modi that manual digging work has commenced, and so far, a total of 52 meters of the pipe has been pushed through. If no major obstacles arise, all the workers will be brought out soon. He mentioned that the health of all the trapped workers is stable. The engineers and officials engaged in the rescue and relief work are making every possible effort.

PM Modi was provided with all the necessary information. The Chief Minister also mentioned that quality food is being regularly sent to all the stranded workers. Regular communication with doctors and psychologists is being facilitated for the workers. Continuous communication is also being maintained with the families of the trapped workers. In addition to the communication setup established by SDRF, BSNL has also set up a telephone communication setup.
