The opening partnership of Southern Superstars’ Upul Tharanga and Dilshan Munaweera couldn’t provide a strong start for the team. In the Legends League Cricket, captained by Gautam Gambhir, India Capitals secured their first victory of the season with a century from Rikardho Pavel. Southern Superstars set a target of 164 runs for India Capitals. However, India Capitals chased it down in just 16.4 overs with seven wickets to spare.

Tharanga returned to the pavilion after scoring 19 runs. Shrivats Goswami and Ross Taylor also got out after scoring 24 runs each. However, Chaturanga de Silva played a brilliant innings of 56 runs off 34 balls, taking the team’s score to 163 after losing six wickets in 20 overs.

For India Capitals, Jain Rasti and Ish Sodhi took two quick wickets. While chasing the target, India Capitals got off to a good start thanks to Rikardho Pavel, but Gautam Gambhir (three) and Ganeswara Rao returned to the pavilion without opening their accounts. After that, Rikardho Pavel and Craig Edward formed a partnership of 128 runs for the third wicket, bringing India Capitals close to victory.
