Leader of the Congress Party, Yashpal Arya, stated that the compensation of 50,000 rupees given to the rat-hole miners by the government is insufficient. He emphasized that the government should announce additional benefits for these brave rescue workers, including technical staff.
The Congress party also expressed its gratitude and respect for all those involved in the rescue efforts, including the laborers and rat-hole miners. Yashpal Arya, the opposition leader, announced that all Congress MLAs would donate their one month’s salary as a token of appreciation for the rescue workers.
In the state assembly, Yashpal Arya mentioned that the successful rescue of 41 workers from the Silakyaara tunnel demonstrated the dedication and risk-taking capabilities of the laborers, ensuring the safety of both workers and citizens. He further acknowledged that the nation had been anxiously praying for the safe rescue of those trapped in the tunnel.
The Silakyaara incident highlighted the challenges faced in disaster management by the government and prestigious organizations, despite substantial investments in manpower and machinery. The rat-hole miners, anonymous workers, and ordinary technical staff, who risked their lives to save their fellow workers, ultimately accomplished the successful rescue mission.
Yashpal Arya emphasized that the government’s compensation of 50,000 rupees to the rat-hole miners is inadequate. He urged the government to increase the compensation amount and announce additional benefits for these brave individuals.
